Global Warming, Solo Exhibition, Themes + Projects Gallery, San Francisco, California.
Here you see a recent critical departure to monochromatic white glazes. By stacking additive and subtractive forms topped by a bouquet of kelp-like shaped crowns, the intention was to use beauty held in check with the death of the Great Barrier Reef in Papua New Guinea.
While the night glow of the light looks magical and monumental, the concept is chilling, haunting, and warns of the global warming of our oceans.
Remote-controlled rechargeable battery LED lights are attached to the interior, creating monumentality and mystery while educating about the possibilities of light produced off the grid.
